Here I Am, Lord can refer to one of two hymns
The first is composed by Dan Schutte in 1981 after Vatican Council II. Its words are based on Isaiah 6:8 and 1 Samuel 3. The song was then published by North American Liturgy Resources and was later purchased by New Dawn Music, a subsidiary of Oregon Catholic Press.
Despite its Catholic origins, the hymn is often sung in many Protestant worship services as well, particularly services that are contemporary rather than traditional in structure and format.
The other is composed by Michael Ward and is based on Psalm 40. The hymn is published by J.S. Paluch through its subsidiary World Library Press.
